Amsterdam, October 2016
I travel a lot for work, and had the opportunity to explore Amsterdam on an extended trip. I've been to Amsterdam several times now, but I was determined to squeeze as much as I could into this trip!
The weather was wonderful - cold and crisp Autumn days and the sky always delighted me in the intense colours at sunrise and sunset. I took some time just strolling through the canals, soaking up the culture, which was wonderful.
I visited the Happiness Project at Body Worlds, and got some great reference shots for future drawings. I included the % make up of happiness, as I found that particularly insightful, but didn't include pictures of the other displays out of respect for the project and donors. I would highly recommend going and checking it out for yourself!
One evening I took a canal tour (the sunset photos) which was very relaxing and enjoyable before treating myself to a bit of self care with a ridiculously delicious dinner of steak and lobster!
Of course I went to the famous Rijksmuseum and got my fill of fantastic medieval art (see my other blog post on my latest large painting, "Angelien" inspired by some of the art I saw!): http://www.littlelyra.com/home/2016/11/13/angelien
